Exclamation 83 GT..Turn A/C on,,,engine shuts down.

83, 5.0, 5spd. You run the engine all day if you want and it runs great. Put the A/C on, and after maybe 3mins, the engine turns off as if by the key. Turn the key to restart and there's nothing. No starter, no clicking, just crickets. Wait about 30sec,starts right up.

I do:
Have lights when it shuts down
Strong battery.
New cables.
New Module.
Good starter.
A full charge.
COLD A/C when it's running............but it shuts the car off!

I don't have:
A problem with the compressor as it's operating. No noise, leaks, rattles, or freezing up.
A problem with my module. I've two and one's new.
A problem with my charging system.
A clue why it does this.

I did disconnect the compressor leads and then turned on the A/C while the engine was running, and it ran fine. Don't know if this proves something, but I thought it clever at the time.

Thanks in advance>>>>>>>KAZI

Okay im going to toss a guess. You said you have new cables - but I suspect there is a ground issue. Run a ground from the batt to the chassis, then from the batt to the engine.

Thanks, but no. I have secured two grounds when I changed the cables. Like Isaid, there's no problem with the charging system. The car runs perfectly, till I turn on the a/c. When the car shuts down, everything still works, but won't start. You can sit there and not touch anything and in a about a minute, it starts like nothing went wrong.
