Default 95 Starting Problem

My 5.0 has problems starting in the Mornings. Trouble shooting has found its not firing and possbile not getting fuel. If i leave the key switch in the on position, after a few mins i hear the fuel pump re-prime and the car starts. It also will cut off driving down the road but restarts. Any Ideas..?????

Cool a few things to check

A repair manual will help you trouble shoot this but here is a few things to look into: check fuel pressure by hooking up a fuel pressure guage to the fitting on the fuel rail then turn the key to the on position and let the fuel pump prime the line and back of and on a few times to let the pressure build it should be around 39 psi let it sit for 10 minutes or so and see if it holds this pressure. try cranking the engine and check fuel pressure to see if its about 39 psi. if this all checks good it may be in the ignition I had a bad hall effect sensor in the distributor of my 95 GT that caused similar systems I replaced the distributor with a rebuilt one but its a lot cheeper to replace the sensor but you have to take the distributor apart to install it. I figured as many miles as my GT had on it That the bushing and all would be worn out but It was still tight but I already had the distributor so I just put it in. There is more things to check like the ignition module on the passager side fender under the MAF sensor but if you take it off to have it checked at the parts store " they can check it at a lot of stores like auto zone" you have to make sure you get some of that heat sink grease to put on its back before you remount it or it will fry in just a few seconds after power gets back to it such as cranking the car hope this helps.
