Default Grinding noise....synchros?

Hey guys, I know there are already some posts about this stuff, but I searched them and my question was not directly answered, so I have to do another post. When I start slowly out of first gear I hear a grinding noise. It sounds like the gears are grinding. Is something going bad? Or is this just the way the synchros are? I don't hear it when I am driving hard or in second gear or higher. I only hear it at real slow speeds in first gear. I would appreciate the help. Thanks

Have you checked the trans fluid? could be a synchro or a gear, or bad lubrication.
Use mercon III ATF, 3qts.

Well, you suggested it might be the transmission fluid, but I have a manual transmission, so would that still apply? Also, if it is the synchros is there any other things I can watch or listen for that might give me a better idea of what it is? thanks

Still applies, trans fluid level has to be checked once in a while, sometimes you loose some through the tail seal. Also, removing the old fluid gives you a chance to check if there are any metal shavings, that would mean something is wrong.
