Default 89 lx 5.0 fuel problems

i have a 89 lx 5.0 and my fuel pump died. i replaced it and the filter and it was ok for about a week and died again. so far in the past month ive dropped the tank and replaced it 3 times and it still hestitated when i stomp on the gas (around 3000 rpm). if im easy on the gas pedal its ok but as soon as i want to go fast it starts bogging. ive replaced the fuel pump relay and still no luck. ive even tried to release the preasure by disconnecting the shut off valve in the trunk and still no dice. my friend told me i need a high flow pump. please help

could be a number of things: injectors, mass air sensor, fuel filter, clogged pcv valve. do the pumps burn up or are you just not satisfied with what happens when you romp the gas?

Had the very same problem on our 89 GT 5.0,me and my son replaced a leaky tank and some how the pump filter fell off while or after installing it back to the new tank .Motor would bog down when you drove it above 2500 -3000 RPM. We ran the codes and got a code 96 for the fuel pump ,we then pulled the tank back off and found the filter strainer had fell off .The screen in the bottom of the pump was full of stuff .We went and changed the pump and strainer filter again and it runs fine now .We where afraid to re-use the pump even though it was fairly new because of the trash it had in the screen it looked like lint or something.
