Default How difficult is it to replace synchronizers?

Just like the other Mustang I owned, the 2nd gear synchronizer has kicked the shitter at 75,000 miles. I hate T5's/T45's. Anyways, I've been told that the synchro itself is dirt cheap but the labor to replace it would be around $600. Has anyone done this themselves before and how difficult is it to do? Any special tools needed?

well you will have to basically tear down the main shaft to get to the synchro's, especially if you do a complete rebuild, which I highly recommend. as far as tools go you will need snap ring pliers in additon to the basics. you will also need gear pullers and presses and that stuff might be hard to come by unless you have them or know someone who does. I completely rebuilt mine for a class project and it wasnt too hard, just time consuming. Good luck
