Default questions on 2003-2004 cobras

hey guys,
i'm looking to get a 2003-2004 cobra, and there were some questions.
First off,
I found a 2003 near my house with almost 15,000 miles, it has full exhaust (headers, x pipe, everything), 2.8 pulley, heat exchanger, 4.10 gears, king cobra clutch, but.... he took the IRS out and put a solid rear in, and also has a line lock on it. He's asking $23,000 for it, I think that is too much since he switched rear ends. What is all of your opinions?? He "said" hes only raced it twice at the track.

Also,
I guess the 2004's are better to get because of the ticking heads in the 03's. Do the heads go bad or is it just more of an annoyance? Also, what are other problems with these cars, and how much boost can they handle, etc..?? Thanks!!

Line locks and a Solid rear axle and he only raced it twice... yea right.

The Solid axle swap is not a bad thing. Its a very popular mod for those cars if you are going to spend anytime at the track.

Man steer clear of that car. It's been thrashed hard if he did all that modding to it. It may have only seen the track twice, but it's lived a rough life on the street.

I think your probably right.

As for $23k being too much for an 03/04 Cobra....no way, that's pretty cheap actually. I paid pretty much that price for my mach with 27,000 miles on it.....I have never seen an 03/04 Cobra for under $26K....but I do live in Cali where every-freaking-thing costs more.

yeah i know $23k is very cheap for a cobra. I just thought this one was too much because of the rear end swap, line lock, and all the goods knowing that it's been beaten on. I wish i could find a normal one for $23k!! Anyways, i think i'm just going to hold on to my GT right now, just ordered a new pulley for the procharger, so i guess she will stick around a little while longer. Maybe the 2009 mustangs will be 350+ hp N/A? My old man's 03 mach 1 is a fun ride as well. The possibilities are endless for what I get next.
