Unhappy Electrical Failure While Starting

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening I have a 1967 mustang coupe with a 289 v8 in er and it seems a problem has arisen that i have to seek help with. Earliar today it was running fine not counting the poor idling when cold but after trying to restart a perplexing thing happened ... as soon as i turned the key all the way over i loose all electical power and it returns on its own convienence needless to say. Jumping wasnt the solution and ive been goign threw electical schematic after another trying to figure out what and where things got a bit wrong. Any advice questions or answers toward this situation would be most helpfull.. ty much

Try changing the switch, might be broken.}
Check for fried or grounded wires.
