1979 Mustang Fuel Tank

Hello, I am new to this forum. I have a 1979 Mustang project under way and was wondering if anyone has installed a later 1981-1985 15.4 gallon fuel tank in place of the 11.5 in the 1979-1980.

its very possible, the 11.5 gallon sux. I have to fill mine up often that way, about every 200 miles. You will need new tank straps, and you may have to check exhaust clearance, but I just measured my 97 and my 79 and it looks like a go! Have a great one!
