Default Manual conversion problem

Hey everyone,

need some help converting an automatic to a manual transmission. I am looking at different flywheels, some are 157 teeth and some are 164 teeth, whats the better one to go with here? I tried looking for factory specs but couldnt find any, I looked at the starters at Autozone, they dont give specs as to what flywheel they will fit. Anyone run into this problem???

thanks!

I was also wondering about the balance of the flywheel. why is a 28 ounce balance different from a zero balance and what are the benefits of the two? thanks again!

i THINK that the flywheel you want is the 28oz IMbalance flywheel. The 5.0/302 uses a 28oz dampener i think..... i could also be making this up... i dont really know.

What year car and engine do you have? All 289s are 28 oz. All 302s through 1980 are 28 oz. All '81 and newer 302s are 50 oz. All 351Ws are 28 oz.
