Default Car backfiring...Help

Ok here goes, I just put new O-rings on my injectors which are the same ones for the past 7 years at least, I bought it used. Anyways, the other day when driving, the car had no power and would backfire constantly when i would hit the gas, any suggestions on what it could be. I just put in bbk headers (1 5/8) and bassani x-pipe. Please help....

what year is your car? why did you put new o rings on old injectors. did you clean the injectors? if so maybe you are getting more fuel than your sparks plugs are used to if they are old as well. Do a basic tune up plugs wires cap rotor and clean your mass air needle there is a how to clean your mass air in the tech section

its an 88 speed density, the injector are still good, thats why I put o rings on them instead of replacing them. Injectors are clean.

Sounds like plugs or wires. Is it possible you could have damaged your plugs or wires when installing your headers ?

i had a friend with an 88 gt that was backfiring like crazy---turned out to be an exhaust leak. i had never heard of that causing backfires before, but sealing his exhaust leak made his car stop doing it

I have found that the backfiring will only happen when the car is cold. Once it has warmed up a little, and ran for about ten minutes or so the backfiring stops. It is possible that a plug didnt get all the way back on.
