Ive got the traction completely set up for launching my 88 mustang gt but I want to improve the engine power to take me off like a rocket no more exceeding 4500 RPMs in 3rd , at a distance no further than a 1/4 mile, Its a street driven car, stock engine, c4 transmission, 3.73 gears, I can handle them forein chimports with the fart mufflers im guessing 100 feet but after that they slowy pull away from me!!!! its very upsetting !!!!! PLEASE ANY ADVICE NOT WORRIED ABOUT TOP END POWER!!!! budget is $1200 income tax

Need more power. Get some AFR 185 heads, an E303 cam and Holley Systemax II intake. Match that with some long tubes of your choice in a 1 5/8 diameter, X pipe, 75mm TB, 75mm MAS, and all this will be street/smog legal. Those furrin imports couldn't hang then. But since the budget is $1200, get the exhaust, TB/MAS, and a cold air system. These will make a good starting point.
