Default 5.0-liter Cammer crate engine

Hey all, I was wondering about the 5.0-liter Cammer crate engine that will be out in 03 which had an artical written up on it and posted on this site. About how much will it cost??? Will it fit in the engin bay of any stang or are there a select few models and year?

The idea is that the engine will be compatible with any project you have in mind (as long as it is FUEL INJECTED)
That means you could use it in any model stang or on EFI conversions for classics but not restricted only to mustangs, you can use it in a F250, Explorer.or whatever Ford you like!

There will be an assortment of wirig harnesses for most EFI applications.

No news about the price yet, my guess is around $5000 for the crate plus the harness.

Thanks for the info. I am looking to do some work on my V6 and after talking with Morana they said it would run me around 7000 to get my engin to where I want it to be... My original plan was to have the sweetest 6 on the road but if getting a 5.0 new that puts out 418+ hp with nothing changed I am tempted to look into doing a swap.... Hum....

Default 5.0 or 4.6

I know that the new cammer crate engine is a 5.0. But does anyone know if it is just a 4.6 block stretched to the max or is it a big scary 5.0. To begin with. From what I have read, it seems to me that it must be a 4.6 block. I'm just hoping some one can tell me other wise because the potential of a dohc engine that can be bored to a 5.7 is amazing to me. If anyone knows for sure, it would be nice to know even though I'll probabaly never afford one of these things.
Thanks

The problem with the modular motor is that it uses some kind of spread bore technology, so nobody wants to risk boring it. Rather, they increase the stroke. The biggest I've seen is 5.2 Liters. The 5.0 cammer is a 4.6 that has been stroked to 5.0 liters.
