Default 2000 Mustang 3.8 swap to 2.3 Turbo - help

Hello all,

I am in the planning phase of an engine swap in my 2000 mustang convertible from the current 3.8L-6 to a 2.3L-4. I'm not looking for a tremendously fast car, just a slightly faster, more efficient, lighter car. The 4cyl shaves a hundred pounds off the front and lowers the polar moment of inertia (quicker steering response). Since the 6cyl only has 190hp/230tq I can exceed that easily with a turbo 4 and still get slightly better milage.

My choice of engines has been made. What I am looking for is any information on the electrical side of the swap. The greasy parts are very easy to fit in to the car (turbo, etc). It's obvious though that my 3.8 harness won't work and I'd like to keep A/C and cruise control. I had though of a Motec unit to control the engine, but to my knowledge that leaves me without cruise control.

If anyone has any information on a the swap of a 2.3L-4 in to a late model SN95 then please post the link or advice.

Best Regards,

2000Turbo4

You're going to have to find a thunderbird torbo coupe and get the engine harnesses, computer, etc.

Then find a 2.3L mustang and adapt the K-member at a minimum.
