Default 2001 V6 Mustang Idle Problem

I have a 2001 V6 mustang with 79,000 miles on it. I have a CAI and just replaced the fuel filter. Why on a cold start do i get very responsive and torquie take offs, but when i let it warm up it hesitates on take off. And when just starting up the car should it the RPM go to about 2 for about a minute then go down to about 750 on the RPM. You can hear the CAI sucking in air during this time.

Did you disconnect the battery after the CAI install? Also make sure all your connections are tight, MAF is level, and clean the MAF with computer contact cleaner. Never touch the sensor with your fingers.....

The first part and the second have to do with the automatic choke the computer engages on cold mornings.

The hesitation is likely due to a dirty MAF. Spray both sides with computer contact cleaner, liberally.

Pay strict attention to what Coyote said. CONTACT cleaner. NOT CARB OR BRAKE CLEANER.

The 2K RPM is to let the engine warm up a little before driving.

Have you ever heard of "cold-siezing" an engine?
