I've just got these heads home and cant figer out the combustion chamber volume fromthe casting numbers

Can YOU help ?

E6SE apears underneath in the valley and 7F15 is in the rocker aera

you have the cursed 1986 H.O. head (GREAT for torque) with 62.9-65.9 cc combustion chambers

hey there, the problem with the E6SZ heads is the cumbustion chamber is heart shaped and does not flow too much air. The heart shape also causes hot spots on the head and can cause detenation. They are a great torque head and some porting would help, I would not polish the intake ports though. Personally, I like them and have had little troble with them, but they do not like HIGH RPM's.

.you kind of confirmed my thaughts about the chamber shape .Out of curiosity why do you sugest not polishing the inlet port?

Krankie, the intake side needs to be rough so the air and fuel will mix better....
