 2001 Mustang convertible window regulator removal help.
I'm currently working on a family member's 2001 Mustang v6 convertible with a window issue. It seems as if the welds on the gear piece of the window regulator have broken and the gear has fallen off. I also noticed that there is a counter-balance spring on the regulator. I have never worked on one that has a spring on it. So, I'm concerned that if I remove the regulator/motor assembly with that piece broken off, that the spring will unwind.
Also, is it necessary to remove the window or can the regular scissor be slid out of the track the window is attached to?
Please, if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. As I stated earlier, it's a family member's car and they need it back ASAP. Thanks in advance. |
