1984 Mustang What Gears Should I Put In My 8.8 Rear End
i have a 84 mustang L with a 8.8 rear end. i plan on beefing up the ring and pinon gears but don't know what is best for my pony I'm running about 340 rwh with a t5 trans can anyone tell me the pros and cons of bigger gears and the best ratio
hey..i would put a set of 3:73's in it. its a nice gear. off the line you still got that nice punch and it doesnt over reev on the highway. 3:55 would not be steep enough. if it was automatic, i would say o with 3:55's
I would look into a 3.90 gear. It is a great ratio between 3.73 & 4.10, I had a few different friends who ran these with a T-5 and loved it. They did not have any problems on the highway.
depends on gearing in trans.......... but i would say the 3.90
