If your car is going to be street driven, I would use a dual plane intake manifold, (I'm using a Weiand Stealth with good results), because it gives good performance at lower engine speeds. For a carb, I'm a Holley fan, use a vacuum secondary type (Holley 670 CFM Street Avenger) for example, or if you like the Edelbrock use their AVS type. These carbs only open the secondaries when the engine needs them.

Single plane intake manifolds and mechanical secondary carbs are best suited for full throttle use as drag racing would require. I wouldn't use a two barrel carb unless you want to drive around with your mother in the car. The Performer RPM is a good dual plane intake, so using it would be OK. ___Chuck

what is the big difference between a two barrel carb and a 4 barrel , what if you port the 2 barrel to make the same size as a 4 b , and finally can some one give an estimate on my set up .......stock block with forged pistons ,forged crank , canfield heads fully ported ,1.7 rockers, a e303 cam , dual plane intake and a good carb ( holley 670 or motorcraft)

yea definitly stick with a dual plan intake for good low end torque... the holley carb with vacume secondaries is a nice carb.. but if u want to step it up a notch go with a demon carb..they have a street dominator carb...thats priced pretty decent.....to me they look like a work of art..lol

thanks for the answers, but i guess few people like carbs these days , the only reason i puttting a carb in my 96gt is because i got no computer right now and i have a holley and i can get a intake easily, and also is too expensive to put a 94 computer into a 96 car .
