Default Supercharge my six! Which one should I use???

1998 3.8 MUSTANG ( A few bolt ons)

Hey guys I haven't posted her in FOREVER (like 6 months r somthing lol). Gonna have to look around and see who all is still here

Any way, a while back I was 100% determined to sell my six and get a GT. Well the more ... experienced ..users at this site voted agaisnt that and told me to work on the six.

Guess I'm finally seeing the logic in that.

So I'm thinking about supercharging (can't find a turbo). What do yall recommand??

Would I need to build my motor first (only 30,000 on it)?

Got some money for graduation, don't want to impluse buy though. Also where the hell do you get a supercharger installed???

There are three turbo sources, TMA, STS and JMS. They're VERY expensive.

Of the SC units ATI is very good. You can install it yourself, but you're going to have to find a dyno tune facility.

Unless you go with the HO unit, you'll pick up nearly as much hp with less stress on teh engine with a head/intake swap or a port/polish job.

with a 7psi SC unit you'll pick up 70 or so hp for $3000 +. you can pick up 45-50+ hp with a swap or a port job for 50% of those costs. & you can use the extra for a cam swap.

you don't need to build your engine first - the kits are made for OEM use.

My friend just cammed his camaro (6) and it sounds amazing. Could I just throw a cam into my car or would I have to do other things? A good cams only like what, $300?

You wouldn't be able to put a street cam, but a tow cam would give you some hp. your limitation is intake flow, not your cam.

What do yall think about a m-90 eaton blower from a super coupe??? There like $300 off ebay and my buddy swears he could get it working for around $1,500 in parts (including $300 for blower)!

He said it would put me around 200 RWHP and 300 Torque? Said a few more mods and i could EAT 99-04 GTs

But then i look around at web sites and some sites have literally like a 2 page list of **** u have to do to get a m-90 working. Maybe they were talking about for a 99+ v6 tho cuz there two ported.

no, it takes a ton of parts to get it working, it will not work on 99+ heads and intake.

you'd be better off either porting what you have like Shine1stang, or doing a split port swap. You'd have around 200hp and 230 tq.

There used to be a thread about that here, but it may have been lost, look in the archives, or PM GT-Eater.
