Default Steeda clutch adjustment kit install

Ok, so I know that I am getting the double hook quadrant, firewall clutch adjuster, and adjustable clutch cable for christmas and a pro 5.0 shifter. I am very sure that I can get the shifter in and running, my question is can I strap the Clutch adjustment kit myself or do I need special tool and skills and leave it too a shop/dealer? I know it maybe a pain in the butt but if it is possible and you want to give me some pointers I would be very happy to listen.

Whoa boy! I did mine this summer and it was a pain. I took out my drivers seat so i could lie on my back to get up in there. The hardest part was installing the cotter pin to hold the quadrant in place and hooking up the cable. In all it took about two hours.

I hear if you drop your pedal assy right out it's alot easier.

I have had the distinct pleasure of doing this upgrade to two of my Mustangs, an 86 and 93. First off remove that drivers seat like right now!! Thats easy enough , just four bolts and its out. Then make an appointment for the chiropractor and a good massage. No really its not that bad...well kinda. I found the hardest part was getting the old quadrant off because of the adjustor mechanism being too thick to let the unit slide off. I have a tip for this part. There is a big hole where the cable went through the firewall. Stick a bright light under your pedals in the interior and go out under the hood. From there you can see the adjustor gear through the hole in the firewall. Slide a large screwdriver or tire iron in my case and pry that thing off its shaft. You get alot more leverage from this vantage point and your lower back will thank you. I cant remember if I had to leave the pedal up or wedge it under the carpet to see the gear through the hole in the firewall. Then slap the new quadrant on there insert the pins with a set of pliers or vise grips and get to adjusting your new cable. Hope this helps out.

I dont know what your dealer is talking about, the only springs are a couple on the old quadrant you wont need anymore. Yes you have to have the car jacked up to remove the fork cover and to take off the old and adjust the new cable. Your new quadrant should come with pretty good instructions also.
