You can clean it yourself with some aerosol spray carb and choke cleaner. If you have a source of compressed air it would help, but it is not necessary. You will have to do a little more cleaning. You should get a new set of gaskets, there will be two that you will need. The dealer is the most likely source for them, but they aren't expensive.
Do not get any of the carb cleaner into the electrical portion of the valve.
A good application of the spray with a little time for it to soak in and then a small brush and a small item to use for scraping is about all that you will need to clean it. Just remember not to get any of the cleaner into the electricals. The same procedure can be used to clean the idle air control also. Make sure to get all of the old gasket material off or else you may have a vacuum leak.
