Default Heat shrink and fuel pumps

I am planning on installing a higher capacity fuel pump and rather than crimp the wires together, I wanted to solder them and cover the solder joints with heat shrink. Can standard heat shrink for electrics be used?

Yes they can. Much better than any crimp, butt connector, twisty/electrical tape could ever do. That's the best way to do it and for it to be weatherproof too.

Thank you for your answer. I should have added whether standard heat shrink can be immersed in gasoline.
