Default Making the car louder

heylo, i just recently bought a 07 v6 mustang, and i want it to sound as close as possible to the gt, ya know the meaner muscle car sound, ya know from like gone in 60 seconds with the shelby, how it sounds when its just sitting there. do i just get an exhaust? or is there something i have to do to the engine to make it sound like that. im shooting for the old school muscle car sound, the sound the gt makes practically

You'll need to do more than just change the exhaust and it still wont sound like that.

The fact that your two cylinders short is going to affect the sound or lack there of.

You can change the exhaust and the cam(s), that will greatly change your sound.

The V6 has a totally different firing pattern and that in itself keeps the V6 from sounding just like a V8. It takes more than just an exhaust to do that. That Shelby had almost 600 hp, a wide open exhaust and long tube headers so it'd be unrealistic to expect that from a V6. You can get an exhaust to convert it to a true dual exhaust and change the cams/intake to make it sound better and somewhat close to a V8.

A V6 will never sound exactly like a V8.

But you can make it sound like a V8 "most" of the time...

I have the Pypes true duals with Street Pro mufflers.

At idle and under 2500 RPM, it has been mistaken by GT owners as one of their own. Love that.

Over 2500 RPM and it will howl like a Ferrari 246GT (also a V6).

The 4" chrome tips are a nice addition for the local cruise nights.

I've had nothing but compliments from folks who have heard them.

Watch my videos to get an idea of what a V6 can sound like.

Putfile - SOHCman's homepage.

Not a V8, but way better than stock!
