2000 Mustang GT dies after fueling As stated in the title, it really wants to die after fueling, and sometimes albeit more rare, it will die at other random times (always when coming to a complete stop / idling). Always starts immediately with no issue after it dies. It seems to also have a slight sputter between 30 - 50 mph, under or over that it is pretty smooth(?) Also, I have to manually hold the handle down at a slower pumping rate when filling up, or else my tank spits gas back out at me and clicks off the pump. I don't know if this is in any way related. Had the tank dropped and he said he could find no obstructions or anything.
The car runs flawlessly on some days, and terrible on others, regardless of weather.
Mechanic replaced all the o2 sensors, fuel filter, cleaned air filter, and a replaced the egr sensor. This is when a lot of the trouble started. Check engine light is always on (has been since I bought the car). It's just a frustrating off and on problem I've been having for about 8 months+ now and I don't know where I should look next.
Any input or insight greatly appreciated. |
