Unhappy 1967 Mustang Installing Roller Rockers

i have a 289 w/some kind of cam ? if you read my itro i bought this 67 from my bro sight unseen. my right bank cyld 3 and 4 the rollers came off center of the valves as i started backing them off i found a press stud and pin stud one per cyld the guide plate had been epoxyed down it appears on all plates right and left banks someone had split the two in question so they could use the screw in stud too hold them in place i removed the screw in studs and set the plates on top!! no underneath as the were org. and the pates were even not off set. i have ordered new rollers and plates but are unsure of how the best way to go about putting this all back together,or even how to set the gap!! please please help.
