I just got a 1977 Cobra and it won't start. It's parked on the street and the New York City Police Department wants to tow my car.

My friends and I have checked everything. The battery is a little shotty but works. The Spark plugs are all clean. As is everything else. There seems to be no shortage, but alas, my car still won't start.

Brain storming... Can any body give me any ideas as to whats wrong?

I have a half tank of gas in it, it's only been sitting on the street for a week. SO the gas isn't dried up.

Please Please Help, I can't stand to think of my Mustang being towed.

Have you checked to see if it is getting spark? Not sure if in 77 it still has points ignition or if it has been upgraded. If you are getting spark, then check to see if it is getting fuel. If you have both then you have an a/f problem but dont see that happening just from sitting a week.

try priming the carb. with a little gas. I have to if mine sits for a while.
