Default 1966 Mustang, 2.3 turbo installation?

I am haveing a problem getting the 2.3 turbo motor to sit down in the engine bay. I have a ATR header on it with a G3/G4 turbo and it is to wide to get it to sit down in there. I am wondering if anyone has done this before? I have not been able to find anything on the internet about this.
I bought a Pinto that turned 13.1 in the quarter mile. I am putting that motor and trany in the 1966 Mustang that I am restoreing for my daugthers first car. But I am putting stock 1986 svo injectors back in the engine and takeing out the chip it has, for now anyway.

Sounds like you might need to either go with a stock exhaust manifold and turbo, or have another custom manifold built to fit with the bigger turbo. You might want to be careful going back to the stock injectors with the bigger turbo, especially if the boost is set higher than stock using a manual boost controller. At the minimum, I would take it to a shop that can check the air fuel ratio while running it on a wheel dyno malking boost, to make sure it doesn't run too lean.

Agreed. A guy I know named Gene has one in his 66 with a stock E6 manifold and it dropped right in after he made motor mounts. What fits in a 5.0 Mustang doesn't fit in a 65-73 when it comes to exhaust.

Well I have made a decision. I am going to put a Heidt's Mustang IFS Mustang II kit. That gets rid of the shock towers completely and I can set the motor down in the engine compartment lower then with the stock crossmember and steering. (The starter is sitting on the steering right now!) I guess it I put a smaller turbo on it that might give me more room, But then there is the problem of the Alternator and power steering pump. With the Heidt's kit I will have all the room I ever wanted and I will not have to worry about clearance problems. Also it will make the car handle better then it ever did in its life before
