"I can't get the key out of the ignition", 1990 Mustang LX Limited Edition

I just bought a 1990 Mustang LX Limited edition Convertible today, and am a bitnervous about the thinks I need to fix. My first problem is "I can't get the key out of the ignition" can anyone help?

Make sure that the steering wheel lock isn't interfering with the tumbler. Try to move the steering wheel (turning directions) while trying to remove the key. I've had something like this happen in the past.

Yeah, my key has gotten stuck too. It happens every once in a while. Just try to move the steering wheel a bit and then try to take the key out.

There is a key release under the steering wheel on mine. You probably know that already though.

I was about to say that. Some years had the key lock, some didn't. After a while it'll be second nature to release the lock to get the key out.

IF you have a different key, use that key. also have a new key made. don't know why mostly poor cut or worn key; L had the same problem only with one key. after haveing new keys made pproblem went away.
