Default 1994 Mustang GT transmission disengages while driving?

Hi! Need help with (information as to why and how to correct). Transmission disengages while driving at any speeds but not all of the time. Have had it to two Ford dealers and all they have done to correct the problem is to change oil and filter. This works for about 1000 miles and then begins the sliping again. Mustang has only 40,000 actual miles on it. Renigeid

Hiya, I see this is your first post. Welcome to the site.
Why doesn't the dealer do more than just change the fluid, obviously there's some work that needs to be done. Sounds like either the clutches inside it are glazed over or a drum has a problem holding the fluid. A fluid and filter change will not work. It needs to be fully serviced and any damaged parts replaced.

Thanks for the welcome and the info. Will contact a Ford dealer today and discuss your ideas. Thanks again, Ren

Had same problem and same resolution with dealer after 13,000 miles. My fix was every 20,000 - 30,000 is to do the transmission flush. I never had to replace the transmission filter, just did the flush. Works for me every time and I now have 115,000 miles and no issues.

Thanks. This is twice we have flushed out and it worked for some time. Next time I think I will refill with a syn fluid. Any thoughts on this fix? Jim
