if the paint is good,, no dents extra,, and it a clear type paint on the hood,, just clean the hood with a good cleaner wash it,, the wipe it down with thinner,,, if there is no chips extra just sand the hood down with 320 grit sand paper,, go to napa or your loca paint shop they'll have some,, then prime the hood with 2k type primer..urathen primer ,, or you could just paint right over the old paint if it hasn't been painted alot times before,, thanks Daniel

There is only one chip otherwise it is in good shape, is it ok to use can paint if I just paint over the old paint? So I can just use some 320 grit and paint over it, should I hit it with some 1000 grit before I paint it? thanks

400 grit or so would be just fine,,, 1000 grit is alittle too fine for the paint to stick really well,, wet sand it with the 400 with wet/dry paper 3m.... Should be good to go,, Daniel
