So my buddy works at auto zone (big deal) and swears that the NOS octane booster makes a difference and he says customers have said they've ran better with it. I honestly couldn't call bull **** because my cars slow and i wouldn't know any way, but that is bs right? All they do is raise your octane by like .5 and only help so you can run higher compression or boost.. at least thats what you would think?

Yes, I believe you are correct in saying it raises octane by .5 or so. There are some octane boosters out there that work. I think Torco Race Fuels makes some that really works.

Yep, you can also use Toulene, which is 120+ octane and was used in indy cars with 5% gas for a long time. You can't use a whole lot, I think 1 gallon to every 10 gallons of gas, but it will do quite a bit. It's real easy to get too, paint stripper aisle of the hardware store.
All the common octane boosters are total bs!

Hold on. So I could buy paint stripper and through it into my v6 gas tank and get a boost in performance?

well if u wanna raise ur octane for ur gas its even easier then the toulene. Moth balls a handfull of mothballs make ur exhaust smell to high heaven but u can raise the octane up alot more lol but dont blow ur engine lmao

Toulene, yessir, no $h1t. We used to live near a chemical plant and all the rednecks would go steal toulene from the train cars and dump it in their cars. Thing is, 100% toulene keeps better when it's hot and the Indy cars ducted the radiators to warm the tank, so I'm not sure how well their little trick worked year round.
Not a problem if you're running a little bit as octane booster tho
