Default Anyone in MA have troubles with custom mid pipes?

I want to purchase my LT's and mid pipes soon, but I am somewhat concerned with inspections here. Does anyone have aftermarket catted mid pipes that have passed inspection? If so, where have you taken your car for inspection? Has anyone ever had any troubles anywhere with aftermarket cats?

i know somebody who put the flowmasters on his car, and he passed the first two inspections but on the third inspection he had a different person and they told him he had to fix it. but thats in california so im sure they have different laws where you live... i know over here it is illegal if you can hear it over 50 feet away.

I'm not as worried about sound as I am about the cats. The federal law states that functioning cats can't be removed and MA law states that you have to have some sort of official letter if you have aftermarket cats, saying that your stock ones had failed. I wasn't sure how anal places around here would be about that kind of stuff.

When my wife got her inspection earlier this year, the guy failed her because part of her license plate bracket overlapped the word "Massachusetts" across the top of her plate. I figured if some places are that strict, I might have to plan on replacing my stock headers and mid pipes every year for inspection.

I have no cats and I pass inspection just fine. As long as the computer says the cats are there you should be okay.

Worse comes to worse hammer a hole in one of your old cats and take a picture of it so you can show the guy and say you scraped it going over a rock.
