Gas prices are at an all time high, so ways for Ford Mustang owners to get the best gas mileage out of their pony cars are popular topics of conversations on blogs and in message forums.
What about using a hand held programmer? Can you put in a high mileage program for normal driving? Then when you want to have some fun enter a power program for the day. I don't know if it is possible to switch back and forth like that.

I normally get around 225 on a tank full. This last time I babied her by not speeding and take it easy and got 250. It's hard not to stomp the gas but it proves it can be done.

Ya that's true...even if i drive the speed limit I still get only about 240-250, thats like 2/3 highway and the other 1/3 city, abd thats 5 days a week, almost 80 miles a day, so you can see how my bank account is suffering pretty bad right now. Even with my fuel economy tune on.
Other ways to increase your fuel economy are using your cruise control to maintain a constant speed and changing your air filter can improve your gas mileage by 10 per cent. A good aftermarket air filter can result in even better performance and better fuel economy.
Keep in mind that if you live in a hilly area cruise control is your worst enemy. Using it will cause the motor to rev and decelerate.
And from a modifiers perspective, you can also upgrade intake, ignition and exhaust components to make the most effeciency of what's there. Occasionally, cam upgrades and ECU re-writes (Or piggy-back ECUs/Stand-alone ECUs) also offer increased mileage.
Also keep in mind that if you accelerate too slow you'll be sitting at the next stop light, which will cost you even more gas. Moderation, try not to floor it, but don't drive like grandma either.
