The 2009 Mustangs Across America Drive will start off in Las Vegas on Friday April 10th with a welcoming ceremony and then depart from there the next day. The five day cross country cruise kicks off in Nevada and wraps up in Birmingham, Alabama.

This year AFM is particularly proud to have one of our own, Fred Kubitz (eod4paws) along for the ride, as AFM's very first "on the ground" field reporter to cover the event for all of us. Fred will be uploading plenty of pictures and posting daily here on this thread so we can all follow along with him each day of his cruise. Our staff writer Josh Calkins, will be working with Fred throughout the cruise and publishing on-the-road updates to our homepage. On Thursday Fred and his son will be hitting the road, from their home in Sterling Colorado, to meet up with the Mustangs Across America Drive on Friday in Las Vegas. To follow along with Fred and his son Nathan on their cruise, be sure to keep an eye on this thread for Fred's daily cruise updates. On behalf of AllFordMustangs, a very special thanks to Fred for keeping his fellow AFM members in the loop and taking us along for the ride! Lets show Fred and his son our appreciation by letting them know we are all on-board and cruisin along with them!

Greetings from Colorado !!! Wow here we go and already 30 minutes past departure time.
We received SCT Tuner and the Camber Adjustment bolts from Brenspeed (Thanks Brent & Brian) Car feels Brand New again
with the 93 tune in it.

We are still up on the jacks getting ready to install the bolts. Here are a few pics.

Why is it Ford brags about having the largest trunk CF space at 7.7CF and I have 21.0 CF of STUFF to go into it?

I have thought about stuffing Nathan into the lower chin spoiler space so I can use the passenger seat for more "storage"

Fred!!! Thanks for the update! This is so exciting... I can't tell you the many, many AFMers living vicariously though you right now! Enjoy your trip - be careful and most importantly, have a freakin' great time!!

Here are the last set of pics for the night.
Gotta Shower and get ready to roll.
Taking the I-76 South to I- 70. We got wind and rain here and possible snow in the high Country Mountains.
cdot.org states it is all DRY and Clear so let the thunder roll.

Going to head out at 10:00 pm. First Stop will be Denver for fuel before going over the summits.

Shooting for Grand Junction.

Will take more pics during the day.

Wow, this is so exciting!! I loved the pictures!! You're two little ones are precious!

As for all the stuff you have to fit into the Mustang - your first mistake was not taking the advice of women mustang enthusiasts... we would have been able to pack that sucker up no problem!!! With room to spare!!

Hey everybody,

Just got off the phone with Fred and he asked me to post an update on his progress. He spent last night in Parachute, Colorado visiting with some friends, and he crossed into Utah and he's a few miles out of Green River.

The scenery is wonderful and reminds him of Radiator Springs from the movie Cars. Nathan is missing out, though, because he's asleep. He had a Mountain Dew Voltage about ten this morning and was wired until 2 o'clock, then crashed.

Fred's seen a few Mustangs on the road, but none of them were participating in MAA. He's also seen a bunch of police and sheriffs working the highways in unmarked F-150s, so fair warning to anybody who might be driving on I-70 in the future!

Fred's been taking a bunch of pictures, including one of his Mustang in front of what he described as a castle/giant brick house in Vale (sp?). The only hiccup in the plans right now seems to be a bit of sponsor trouble, but he'll be signing on tonight to post some updates (and more pics) and he'll be able to explain it better than I can.
