Hello , I just bought the AIRAID CAI ,I looked and read up on all of the cai`s . I was torn between AIRAID,C&l and JLT .I like the airaid because you can run it with the venturi air tube and not use the tuner or tune it by just taking it out with a tuner. The C&l now has this option as well.I think the top companies who dyno prove and make a good product all do about the same thing. It may just be a preference of the owner.Jlt has a very aggresive tune and some like that ect ect.

I have had the Airaid on my Mustang for about a year now. It works great and I still run 87 octane. The plastic intake tube doesn't hold heat creating a cooler intake air temp netting more HP. John, the owner of Airaid Filter Co., owns a S197 and did all the research to get max HP without a tune. It does produce 17 RWHP like he says. I'm very happy with the performance of it.

Any idea how much horsepower with a tune?

I would guess in the 25-27 range with the venturi tube removed.

I went ahead and purchased the AIRAID and it should be here tomorrow. The thing I liked the best about it was the option to install it without tuning. So when I do buy tuner I can release some more horsepower and torq

It looks pretty straight forward on the install...any advise on the install?

Yes the clip to the mass air sensor is a little tricky, slide the red clip back and you need a small flat screw driver to slide up in where the red slide clip is ,than pussh up while pulling the connector off. Just take your time/disconnect the negative battery post (you will need to pry up a little under the post ,carful not to break the post on the battery),loosen the large 72 clamps all the way up or you will have a hard time connecting the plastic tube and the bumpy hose piece. The thinner side of the rubber piece goes on the top of the Cad.The instructions can be downloaded from the airaid.com.I took my laptop out to the garage and did it all step by step. The rubber strip on the CAD takes some force to push down from edge to edge. Make sure the hood closes with no issues and your done. The hardest thing was the connector.I never seen one like that.Look inside you will see a silver metal plate in there were the red slide was in the middle stick the flathead screwdriver under and push up with the screwdriver and seperate or pull out the connector.I wish someon had told me this. You can do it . One step at a time and you will have it done before you know it. Let us know how you like it . Mine is great it make a huge difference let me tell you.

Thanks for the notes!! I'm going to print them out bkid. I did download the directions and have been going over them for a couple of days. one question I do have...when they ask to cut the plastic tube with the razor blade. (#17)? I don't have the parts here yet so maybe it will make more sense, but where am I cutting? Thanks for all you help!

I am so sorry I left this out .I t is important to carfully cut the stock hose from the top of the connector down and cot both sides where the seam is on the hose . When the say carfully they mean do not cut yourself,I recommend scoring down the hose a couple of time not just one hard cut. Just keep sliceing it carfully till you see the blue or green tube inside the hose and pull it off . Do the same for both ends. squeeze the green clip (or post)on the bottom of the vacume connector when taking it off and putting it on. When connecting listen for the snap when pushing it down on the outlets. If you have any other questions I will be glad to help infact you can call me I will send you a pm. You got this.

I did get the pm...but I had pop up blocker onbeing new to the site I'm still getting the hang of it. but if I got this right, I'm just cutting the black connection area around the tube? if you could tell me how to get the info you sent before or send it again that would be cool.

You wouldn't happen to have any picks of your install?
