What I would do is get an MSD 6AL with boost retard, or a comparable ignition system. This will take care of the timing for you, and it would help make sure that boosted mixture will ignite, and not blow out. But you will set the amount of timing to take out of it in accordance to the amount of boost, which is a degree of timing per pound of boost. You can also adjust the timing from the driver's seat with the boost retard.

Ask me why I ran "only" a 13.54.

It's been a while since I had my '88 Vortech car, but I seem to remember that you can adjust the amount of timing removed per psi of boost. Like 1 degree per psi, 2 per, etc.

Thanks for the info....But when i had a 350 chevy motor i had to disconnect the vaccum advance completely and i had to make the intial timing anywhere from 12-16 and the total no more the 30-32 at 3000 rpms... thats where im confused do i have to do the sme here with the mustang???that way there is a heavy intial timing but really not a high advance when the timing is all the way in.....does that make sense or am i wrong??? I know i can do this with weights in the dist. by putting either lighter spring or heavier springs....i do have a carb car too so maybe it might work this way?
