Default What is the best way to add power and speed?

I'm looking for some answers to the age old question of how to get more power and speed out of my car. I joined the website because I figured a community of mustang lovers this large would definetly have some answers.

I have a 2005 V6 Mustang Pony Package. I'm hoping to upgrade the performance without getting into the really pricey forced induction arena.

What are the best ways to go? What is actually effective? I'm starting from stock and am hoping to be able to at least run with stock GTs when I am done.

Any input would be awesome and I thank you in advance for any advice you can give.

one word: supercharger. there are a few problems that you might get into though... time: make sure you take off form work!! and money: if you are on a budget, then youre SOL... otherwise, you could reprogram your computer, get a cold air intake, other small things. but to answer your question, the quickest and most effieient way, but unfortunatly the most expensive, would be to supercharge it. hope you have fun no matter what you do!!

I would stick with starting off by getting a cold air intake, and changing out some stuff in the exhaust end starting with headers, and full exhaust system. Maybe removing the cat if you don't have those pesky yearly inspections palces to get a new tag. Of course removing the cats is illegal, so my disclamer is "Off road use only!"

Really tho, the cheapest things is to help your car breath easier, and get rid of the exhaust easier. Maybe upgrade your MAF snesor, change to a bigger throttle body, and upgrade the CPU. That seems to be the starting point tho. Maybe switch to some lightweight pullies.

As to be up with a stock GT without going into major induction, you will have to get a NOS set up for that I do beleive. With those mods above, it still wouldn't be enough without the NOS.
