Default What's the first thing to add to a Mustang? (for performance boost)

Hi, was just wondering what should be the first part to place on a Mustang, to improve its performance. Particularly interested in Edelbrock items, because I just learned about a 10% discount over at revvedup4kidz.com.

Any suggestions?

CAI/Tunner. Quickest, and the most HP gain you can do for the money you spend.
The year of the car would be helpful too.

Cold air intake would be my number 1. Then maybe some headers, and exhaust system crap to free up some ponies. Then maybe switch the pullies to lightweight ones, remove the fan, switch to electric. MAF sensor, and bigger throttle body, tune the cpu. Thats just me tho.

Default 1999 Mustang first thing added

I added a BBK CAI and performance headers to my pony. I immediately noticed the HP increase. Then I added Glass Packs and that made a big difference too. I know if i would have went with better pipes the HP would have been a bit higher, but I went with what my money could afford at the time. Sounds pretty decent also to be a V6 believe it or not. I think the pullies will be my next option and then to the chip...Not for sure though, any suggestions are also welcome.

I went with exhaust first, then cold airi ntake, then programmer (tuner), then underdrive pullies, then 75mm throttle body and plenum. lol Then scrapped the underdrive pulleys and tuner, went with a supercharger and custome tune. If I could do it again I would have started with the supercharger first and went from there.

Well I've done a CRAP load to my v6......I First Did
1. Custom Side Exhaust
2. BBK Tuned Legnth Headers
3. CAI
4. Diablo Tunner
5. T-Lock
6. 3.73 Gears
After all this I rebuilt the rearend and did a few more things and threw on A Vortech Supercharger.

But Go for the Simple and easy things first Like I did....Lot better that way and you'll Notice a BIG difference

Well there are 2 ways you can do it. What year is this BTW? You can spend $250.00 on an CAI, $400.00 on a tuner, $500.00 on gears, $350.00 on a cat back, $100.00 on UD pulleys, OR save up for a while and buy a supercharger kit. Most if not all S/C kits work well with stock engines, since most were designed for stock engine applications. At that point you can sell your CAI on e-bay, you may need to put the stock pulleys back on, and a few other things. Most S/C kits will give you a 100-150 HP bump.
