Default 351W Stroker Builds?

Okay, I know there is a lot involved in building a stroker engine. I am currently building a 351W into a 393 Stroker. I bought a 393 Stroker Kit, and I was wondering what kind machining still has to be done to the block to make the crank, rods, and pistons work, if any.

all i have messed with so far is 302s so i am not familiar with stroking 351s.you may have to get the block nothced around the oil pan rails. just talk to your machinist about it. i bet it wont take much or cost very much

well a budy of mine build a 410 out of a winsor.pretty much you need to make sure you have a good block.find a early 70s block thay are the best. my bud told me he had remove some metal from the main area of the block.pretty much get a freind to help and set the crank in block. any spots that hit need to remove some metal.if this is a drag car and not a street drive you should fill the block for strenght.also after the crank is installed we ran into problems with rod to crank clearance.so make sure you check it.there is a brace to be bought for the valley and with help keep the block from breaking. if you are trying to make reall power like anything over 650hp a stock block wont last. well thats about it. good luck!

Not much needs to be done after boring the cylinder to match the pistons. AT the bottom of the cylinder you'll have to cut out a little half moon area to clear the rod bolts. Not a big deal, really.

Also, many stroker kits kit the oil pan rail back around #8 cylinder. You might have to clearance that just a tad with a hammer. Bolt the pan down without a gasket and rotate the crank a few times before buttoning it up.
