Depends on mileage first. If you have near or over 100k miles then it's only a matter of time before you blow the engine. No matter how little mileage it may have, anything over 8 psi for a bone stock engine is in the danger zone.

the engine has way less than 20000 kms im wanting just to run 3or 4 pounds of boost as the novi 1200 only puts out 7 psi tops i had 6 psi but blew the head gasket i belive its because the timing was off but i love the extra power n the sound is addicting lol

Head gaskets will blow sometimes on a stock supercharged engine. It's just a risk you have to assume with a supercharger. Buy top grade head gaskets. I'm not sure timing would really be as much of an issue as the extra pressure being put in the cylinders.
