Default HOw much nitrous is safe

im new to the site and i recently bought a 1999 Cobra it's got a vortech supercharger and a fully built rear end and i was thinkin about getting nitrous. i was wondering how much would be safe to run on stock internals. also how much boost could i run through my s/c safely (im pushin 6 right now)

really appreciate any input, thanks

I would not try to run 2 power adders. If you want more power then raise the boost and get a good tune. It would be better and more safe. You also would get a constant HP boost, not just when you push a button

None is safe. But it so addictive, that you will most likely use it more often than you intended to...until you split your block in half. I agree with the dude above, get a tune.

I like your thinking on this one, but the first thing I would do is call ford racing and then Vortech's engineering line. First the guys at Ford Racing are kick ass and know everything from the block to the pistons to the cams to the rods etc....... They can tell you where "approx." how much boost / hp will push these parts over there limits, which means emminant failure. Then talk to Vortech. They will have a few ways of kicking it up a knotch. Be forewarned though that any part can fail faster than expected if stressed. Just like when your alternator fails early for no reason, thats why they have warranty. If you do power adders, and continue to do them, which we all do, it will eventually cause an inferior part to fail and need replacement under no warranty.

Yes i agree with everyone else its not safe to run a blower with nos. Go with a tune and up your boost a lil, or build up your bottom end and up the boost a lot!

I agree with juk08gt, I've seen and read of people running a 75 shot with centrifugal sc's and turbo's before. Gives you a boost before the boost! By the time your near full boost from the SC the NOS shot is done and out the tail pipe anyway!

Don't be afraid to increase your boost. I'm running 12-14 psi. with a good tune on stock internals. I've ran this for a year now with no problems...
