Any Suggestions? Direct Port Nitrous - Help me clear up a few details.

Hi there,
Im planning on installing nitrous in my 05GT and im toying with the idea of direct port nitrous - maybe using the NOSzle units - or maybe some nozzles in the CMCV plates, Anyway, i was hoping that someone could offer a little bit more of an explanation as to how the system actually works.

In my understanding the fuel and NOX are injected into each cylinder directly, however from what i can gather when the nitrous is active (WOT) the nozzles are injecting all the time, even during the exhaust stroke of the cylinder - which seems a bit crazy, am i correct in assuming this?
Does this cause any trouble? Also i would have thought that if you are injecting NOX/fuel above the inlet valve, when the valve is closed the mixture would pool up, causing trouble. OR is the amount of pooling very small so as not to cause a problem?

So following my line of reasoning, the nitrous should be active only when the injector is active, or when the valve is open. Therefore you would need a pair of solenoid valves for each cylinder and a control system to activate them at the right time - But i dont believe solenoid valves are fast enough to do this - and i dont know how you would control the system..

therefore i guess the NOSzle system would be safer as it is injecting constantly into the cylinder (rather than above the intake valve), then there can be no pooling in the intake manifold?

Any expansion you can provide on my reasoning would be very welcome. Thanks
Tim

good questions.the engine will only pull what it needs in each cyl on the suck stroke.the fuel injector is only going to spray fuel when that cyl is on the suck stroke.if that fuel injector would stick open oh yah you would get a lot of fuel build up on top of a intake valve and pos damage. i dont no witch system your getting but most with a fuel injected car fool the pcm into boosting fuel pressue to supply extra fuel to the nos.your going to love to hit that button. hope this helps. later.

Yes, the fuel injector will spray on the suck stroke - but surely the NOX/FUEL mix (which is attached seperately) will continue to spray through the whole cycle? I cant see any way that the fuel injector can control this.

You are referring to a dry system there - im talking about a wet, Direct port system where fuel and NOX are mixed together and added to the cylinder - seperately to the standard injector.

I see what your saying.the volume of air and fuel the heads flow are huge. but really the valve train is moving so fast their really isnt enough time for it to pool up in valve.i supose their could be a little but not enough to hurt anything.your going to have some rpm going when you hit the button anyway so the chances of all that fuel and nos just setting there are slim to none. the mixture were talking about is very fine not as strong of a spray as the fuel injector. the fuel coming out of the sol is probably at oh 6-10psi and what the nos is at 900-1000psi. this mixture is probably just setting there but were talking about mico seconds between valve openings. i dont now if im explaning this right so i think im going to shut up now!

ok to add to my other post.the fuel and nos are mixed in the intake as a fog hens the name fogger. oxygen is mixed with it on the intake stroke and boom. so really un less the fuel sol sticks of you really put fat jets in the fuel side of the system you shouldnt see any thing pool up in a valve.

I ran the NOS Noszle kit on my 04, very nice kit. little pricey but a safe kit. mine was capable of 100-300. Buy the time you put a few bells and whisles (heater, gauges, etc) on it though you are half way to a supercharger. I had about 1,800 in mine.
