Default supercharger question

Hello all, I just installed a vortech v2 supercharger on my 02 gt, I noticed that I do not start getting any real boost until about 4000 rpm and the boost continues 2 go up until at about 6000 rpm (when I usually shift/ get scared, lol) I added an air to air after cooler as well as a 75mm throttle body and plenum, cat back exhaust, 90 mm MAF and 60 lb injectors and have an sct tuner with a custome tune.and am running 3.55 gears, What I am wondering is there any way I can get a little more boost (a little more jam) at a lower rpm. This car is my first mustang and my first sports car, it is only run 5 months a year and then is put away for the winter, it does not see any track life at all, and is not driven that much.

Now on to suspension, I have strange adjustable shocks front and back, with ford racing springs, I am looking at maybe picking up some upper and lower control arms and am wondering does sub frame connectors make any difference at all? oh this car is a convertable.

Thanks in advance

Murray

you might be suffering from "belt slip" and that could be from a bad/weak belt tensioner, FoMoCo has since upgraded that part.......or you maybe at the point where you'll need to step-up to an 8 rib set-up....I'd try a new oem Ford belt tensioner first, as it's cheap enuff...part # 2W7Z-6B209-AA and seels for @$55.00 wholesale

yes sub frame connectors do make a difference alot less body roll better for cornering or alot of torque witch you have if it is s/c, you wont get alot of boost in the lower power band becuase it is spooling up

k thanks for your help guys, I think what I will do is go with a gear change from 3.55 to 3.73 and an anderson power pipe, and see if that gives me any more pump at the lower end.

skip the 373's and go to 410's 430's or even 456's that will bring the boost in faster.

are you joking?

not making fun but seriosly?

the highest gear i have heard of for a street driven car is 4.10s
and then its usually only on automatics

i have lots of friends with the gears i mentioned.it all depends on what the car is being used for..if its strickly a street car then 410's 430' and so on wont really be that big of a deal.if it sees the freeway then no dont go past 410.

nope, bad info dude if you run that much gear on a "stock block" 4.6 wth a s/c, (which is what the orginal poster has), you'll kill that engine in no time, anyting over 4.10's is a waste on a street driven P/A car....

Centrifigals work up high, so if you want to get into that power curve faster, gears is how you do it. On a street car with a manual tranny I agree with the 4:10 recommendation. I don't think you're describing any kind of belt slip though, because they typically slip at higher RPM. Put in the gears, get a set of slicks, heat 'em up, launch it in the 4500 rpm area, hold on tight, and try not to bump the rev limiter - because then you will be replacing the belt.... You won't believe how much fun you're about to have.
