Default modular 5.4 questions from a newbie

I have a 5.4L 32 valve lincoln navigator engine I am putting in my 1967 mustang fastback. I want to build it to about 600+ or so horsepower via a supercharger. Which supercharger should I go with? I am told my bottom-end would not take the power, what all consists of the bottom-end and what needs to be replaced and how about cost. Any help, questions, comments and concerns is much appreciated!
Thanks, Jon from South Dakota

Whipple makes blowers to fit the 5.4, though you're going to need to talk to them directly about the details on achieving your goals. Kenne Bell might have what you need, too, but again, talk to one of their techs.

A centrifugal blower would also work - contact ProCharger or VorTech and see what they have to say.

Not much history of swapping such a motor into a 67, so "kits" are not exactly tailored to your project.

You're going to have to upgrade everything in the block if you're serious about getting 600 ponies to the rear wheels.

Steel crank, all forged rods, pistons, etc.

You're also going to be needing 4 new cams in the correct grind, new springs (the old ones will never tolerate that power, you'll have valve float to beat the band), retainers, etc.

You'll have to do something special with the oil pan, most likely, too.

What transmission are you looking to use?

Well said *tripleblack*!

If you empty out the block and sell the internals you might be able to use that cash to fund part of the cost of the new stuff.

A real good set of springs, retainers and cams that you can get Cheap (if you will beleive it) is off of a ford GT. I can get a price for you from my Ford Parts Supplier or you could check with Hillbank they might be able to get them too.

With a roots Blower you are going to need a killer Heat exchanger and Coolant reservoir we can make for you No problem! If you would like to have the short block built we can do that for you too.

With that Monster you will most likely need a Custom radiator as well which we can also make for you. We could maybe even make it fit in the stock location if its a big enough area to provide proper cooling.

E-mail Me with any detailed question in regards to your cooling and motor needs!

Thanks,

Speed

Thanks guys,
I'm looking at using a T-56 six speed. There is a guy who claims (and I've seen the dyno sheet) 1200+ HP with a twin turbo set-up running on the stock cams. (he rebuilt the bottom end + springs, retainers and valves).
I'll have to see if I can ask him about his oil pan...
Will need to get the heat exch and radiator and reservoir, so I'll keep your number stephen, thanks!!!

Dude I am telling you, go for the ford GT cams! When I say cheap I mean cheap! Like cheaper than any after market cams out there!

I will be looking forward to hearing from you! If you need a take out tranny or wiring I can get that for you to if you cant find them easy.
