Hello Burnt,

Good question. I'm in the same situation with my 2001 GT. Quite a few add-ons, including BBK X-Pipe w/cats, Magnaflow catback, stock headers, Steeda UD pulleys, Accufab 70MM TB and Plenum, and a BBK cold air fenderwell package. Next comes the header choice: longtube or shorty? Ceramic or plain stainless. If you get some HP stats for the choices involved, please post them. The cost difference between longtube and shorty is not tiny, and neither is the difference between ceramic coated and plain stainless. Thanks. Dave NICEHOSS.

I've always heard don't even bother putting shorty headers on, our factory manifolds aren't that bad and the shortys aren't worth the hassle of putting them in. Long tubes are worth it. I have full exhaust except for the stock manifolds and I don't plan on changing them because I don't want long tubes. I was going to go shortys but was talked out of it.

5-6 HP. I had a buddy who had an LS1 Camaro. Paid 3000.00 for headers and exhaust. 8 HP. The Royal Purple he put in got him 6 HP. You can pretty much stay stock exhaust until you start hitting the 430-450 horse range. Stock system and stock PI heads are pretty good.
