Flex fuel in supercharged 5.0 - what is needed I'm building a supercharged 5.0 (actually a Ford Racing Performance Parts BOSS) stroked to 347.
I want to be able to run E85 because, with an octane rating of 105, I can run more boost and/or timing. But I also need to run 93 octane gasoline since E85 is not always available. If I use a Tweecer or Anderson Ford PMS, I can switch from one tune to another.
I have a 1995 Mustang. Does anyone know which parts (fuel tank, pumps, lines, etc.) Ford has already made E85 friendly in that year?
Also, at 10-12 psi on gasoline I'm already using a big pump and big injectors. For E85 I need an even bigger pump and bigger injectors. I'm concerned that the injectors may be so big (about 60 or 70 lbh) that they won't work properly at low speed cruise around town (this is mainly a street car). So I may want to use two injectors per cylinder. Does anyone know how a two injector system works? And has anyone any knowledge of a booster car running flex fuel? |
