I have yet to see why Vortech S-trims are so popular. Sure its a great blower BUT you can get a more powerful, brand new ATI P1SC kit WITH an innercooler for a LOT less less money! Hell, I see USED Vortech kits selling for more than the Prochager Street renigade kit cost new and it comes with a 3 year warentee, comes with a battery relocation kit, Heli cut blades, its self contained, and is about the epuivilant of a T-trim. The base kit for a P1SC ends up costing about $1000 less than a less powerfull S-trim and its track record is at LEAST as good so why does everyone seem to have Vortechs I wonder???
BTW I have a Procharger on the way after about three years of research
The one guess i would take is that its a name brand that is really good as far as reliability. Im getting the Pro too... you forgot the probably the best thing about it tho, (besides less $$) you dont have to drill into your oil pan that can cause leaks over many years of use... but the other stuff is great as well...

I added a d-1sc to my 94 auto conv, and love it!!! I did a lot of research before the purchase, and went back and forth between vortec and procharger. I decided on the proicharger due to the self contained feature, and it was about the same amount of work to install. i think that vortec is a great blower, it just depends on what you need it to do. Mine is a street car, never going to see the track, and I wanted the boost to build up low, and fast, which it does quite well

Good to hear since my combo will be the same as yours. Which blades did you get? The rasial cut or Helecut (curved)? You run an innercooler? AND what pound pully are you running?
I have the helecut, with a 3 core intercooler, and have it pullied for 10 pounds, as I don't think the motor can take much more and it must make it to ST Louis in 3 weeks from CT. It was such a difference from the powerdyne that I removed.
I could not get tuesday off, but I am leaving on wednesday morning from New Britain, CT. I wanted to do the cruise, but work is being a PIA, and I can"t get the time. I am hoping that I can meet up with you in the second leg on thursday morning.
do any of you know of a good tuner shop in the New England area. Once i get the P1SC on the 97 i want to get it dyno tuned and was wondering where a good place would be. I just moved to Brunswick ME from Omaha NE.

I can't recommend anyone in the Maine area, but I know Larocca's in New Jersey does good work, and if you don't mind driving down there, they would probably be your best bet. they seem to have a good tuning system, and the experience in mod motors.
I went with procharger on my 04 GT with 3.73 Gears. Awaiting the install. I like the self contained unit on the Procharger much better than tappin the oil pan..
