Default TURBO project: need advice

Im getting a Schwitzer T04B Turbocharger ($400 new)
It has a 1.15 a/r turbine with a slip fit and twin flow housing with Clipped vains for more flow and reduced exhaust temps. The compressor is a .60 a/r and has a 3" inlet and 2" outlet.

Im making my own kit, buying many stuff from cartech, turbocity and other vendors.
MAC shortie headers will be modified (pass side only)
The rest of the piping will be custom made.
Wont be intercooled to start, unless i find a good cooler for cheap.

The turbo will be installed in passenger side, will be removing the smog pump and rerouting the A/C lines.

42 or 36 lb injectors and a biggie fuel pump.

My plans are for "safe" 8 psi. (reliability first)

My questions are:
how reliable are Schwitzer Turbos (made by Borg Warner i think).
What wastegate do you recommend?

As far as the wastegate goes, look at HKS or Greddy. I hear Garret is offering wastegates too.

I don't know how reliable the Schwitzer is, but most are fairly reliable. I personally like the Garret GT series. Mine are ball bearing and water-cooled.

Garret’s aftermarket site is under construction, but you can download their catalog in PDF form.

Innovative Turbo Solutions has some nifty kits. I looked at their dual turbo kits and talked to Carlson. The one kit I looked at had an 8PSI kit that could easily be pushed up to 20 PSI. At the base it would easily produce 375 RWHP and ran well on a stock motor only larger injectors, MAF and fuel pump. At 20 PSI, a well prep'd motor supposedly produces 750 RWHP. Its a very nice kit for the 94-95 5.0's but just beyond my price range at 4495.00. He described the turbos as being T3T04E (I think) and are a specially matched combo on the both turbines in each turbo. He also claimed that they would be at max boost by the time your foot hit the floor or by 2500RPM's and that was almost no noticable turbo lag. Anyway these guys sounded like they really had some interesting kits....here's their site:

I think an intercooler is pretty much mandatory. Might as well. Go to the junkyard and pull an intercooler from a ford diesel that is tc. Should be pretty cheap, thats what i'm gonna do. As far as reliability I don't know. I can only vouch for Garrett's.
