Default Whipple generation 1 supercharger

Can anyone tell me when the Whipple gen 2 kit was put on the market for sale? What makes them so different than gen 1? Hypothetically say I got a gen 2 procal tune and it was installed by mistake on gen 1 what problems might I be looking at. I have a nonintercooled kit on my 2006 mustang GT and am trying to troubleshoot some issues that I have been having.

How does it run? What it sounds like, is the charger has a different blade pitch is my guess. That is the reason between both. I mean they spin the same or off the same engine. Now, did they change the gear ratio and not the blade pitch is see what is your tuning is a speed differential. So, if say you are tuned for GenII, it is like saying you tuned the GenI for the same tune but only it slower to get the the same rpm. How can the telemetry not follow the rpm is how FI tunes or fires off as per RPM.

It was originally bought in Illinois Feb. 07 I purchased it and installed it in Canada in 08. I am just wondering if it was possible for FRRP to have mistakenly given me the wrong tune when I sent my voucher in. Gen 2 instead of a Gen 1.Long story under 'Tuning my nonintercooled supercharger' on this site.I have been getting a canned tune from a shop back east but they have had to remap 6 times so far. At least thats what the dealer is telling me.I will be getting it on a dyno again once the snow melts. In the mean time I am just trying to be able to have more info when I go back to the guys that have had my car for 5 weeks now. Oh, it keeps pegging lean code in both banks and has horrible throttle delay. No leaks, checked with smoke and propane Sensors, fuel pump, filter replaced Any ideas Thx.

To me it sounds like you are just having tuning issues. An endless list of things can go wrong with a bad tune. I stand behind my stance of dyno tuning any form of F/I. If you are going to jack up the power that much, and spend that much money on it, why not put a little extra in there to make sure you have a safe, well balanced and healthy setup with globs of power of course

Thanks for the help. Did some back tracking found out the 'Professionals' sent the wrong tune in my Procal.JDM did some digging and sent a tune Tuesday. Got my car back today runs purfect, no throttle delay, no ping. Tons of power, streets are too wet to fool around. Goes on the Dyno tomorrow morning. Will post results.

Well I spoke too soon. After about 25 miles of test driving this afternoon my car ran great. Parked it for about 3 hours, drove up my street and got a pinging sound at 2000-2500 rpm And then when ever went pass other cars at low rpm I would hear detonation. Some one mentioned a fuel reservoir that might not be filling back up from the main tank after depleting. This same thing happened with the last tune runs fine for a few miles then starts detonation.Tonight it wasn't even hot yet. This happens hot or cold. Do I need a Dual fuel pump?Any help...?THX

The only dynotuner who uses SCT is still in the wiring stages of finishing there in house dyno. Then they are bringing in a few techs for training. So they have given me date for mid February. This will be the only shop that tunes with SCT in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia if any body out there uses SCT. I also found out that they are have a dyno day special. So if this tune will hold up I hope to be alright till then.I have run it on a dyno twice actualy.A Mustang and a Dynojet both techs said my numbers were safe. But I can still get it to ping at low RPM if I really want to. Unsafe practise but I need to drive my car.Later
