I have a 2006 V6, and let me say I do not know a lot about cars. For christmas, my dad got me dual magnaflow exhausts put on. I know for a fact they are true dual exhausts, 3.5 inch tips, and the guy who did them said they were an "H-Pipe" not a "X-Pipe." What I don't know though is exactly how much of an HP gain I got, and whether it was catback or axleback... If someone needs a picture I will gladly take one. I was also told that freeing up more air to the engine increases MPG, but others have said it will hurt it.. which one is true? Thanks for the help

A good exhaust will help with mpg and power.Post up a pic and i can tell you what you got.

here is the picture. sorry it doesnt include both exhausts, but the same pipe is also on the right side of the bumper also.

Ok thank you. So what is the difference between cat and axle, and which is better? Also do you know how much HP I gained from upgrading the stock exhaust?

As far as better,depends on the car and purpose for it.On your car the axle-back is best.Not sure of the exact horses you gained,but it is much better than stock.Do you have a cai on your car yet?

No that will be the next mod I get when I have some extra money. Right now I am a broke college kid though. My reason for getting the exhausts was for a better sound, and also to make the car look symmetrical. The single exhaust was killing me... I was just wondering about the HP gain. Thanks for your help.
